There are no words to describe the colourful celebrations that are underway at various locations in India where Mawlana Hazar Imam, His Highness the Aga Khan, arrived on February 20, 2018 as part of his Diamond Jubilee tour around the world.
We present on this page a small collection of photos from the hundreds of photos that appear on the Facebook pages of Pink n Purple Photography and Riz Jadavji, who administers Diamond Jubilee & Memorable Ismaili Celebrations.
These images show why India is often considered to be the most colourful place on earth!
But a word to other Ismaili Jamats around the world: Let India keep that honour! In Canada, the photos of children humbly and painstakingly decorating symbolic “Mehmani” plates were deeply inspiring, as was the etching of the words Diamond Jubilee Mubarak on the slopes of the Cathedral mountain near Passu in Northern Pakistan!
It is wonderful to see different ways in which Ismailis celebrate their Imam’s 60 year reign out of sheer love for him!

One of the best colour combinations and designs I have ever seen. Heartiest congratulations to members of India Jamat for all this magnificent work that truly shows how happy the ll are to celebrate this important occasion. I looked at the post twice!

I don’t think the Indian Jamat needs to worry about losing its title. In my humble opinion, these decorations are nothing short of marvellous.
