His Highness the Aga Khan Visual and Textual Expressions Barakah

The recent publication of two posts in quick succession on Mata Salamat, Begum Om Habibeh Aga Khan, and Prince Aly Muhammad resulted in a significant increase in Barakah’s readership. Indeed, all the posts on members of Mawlana Hazar Imam His Highness the Aga Khan’s family have received very high readership over the past year. In each article that we post on this blog, we provide link referrals to other articles of interest, and that is also the case with tributes to Mawlana Hazar Imam’s family members. However, according to the information we gather from our statistics, a majority of the readers do not click on the links, preferring to focus on the piece they are reading. For that reason, and because we are gaining new readers everyday, we have created this page to facilitate easier access to the tributes we have published so far. Readers can then return to this page at their convenience to continue their reading from where they left.

As we approach, Navroz, the Persian New Year, my family joins me in wishing you Navroz Mubarak. We thank our readers for their gracious support over the years, and convey our heartful thanks to individuals and families who have come forward and shared their unique photo collections with readers of Barakah.

  1. Have not seen these photos before and I am lucky that I have been able to view these rare photographs of the Noorani family at this late age in my life.

  2. Thank you Azeez for sharing your art work. Portraits sketched and painted by you have so much more depth of feeling, sense of dedication and love. The colours you have chosen, the portrait of Mawlana Sultan Mohamed Shah says so much about his character, charisma and age. Juxtaposed with Prince Aly Muhammad, prince Hussain and Prince Rahim with youthful faces and delicate skin colours.

In Princess Zahra’s portrait you have captured how she smiles with her whole being, the tilt of her head and her youthful flowing hair — now her charm exudes as she is older, more serious and a leading role model for us, her hearty laugh so contagious and pleasing. Princess Zahra is my favourite Princess.

    Thank you Azeez
