First Aga Khan School Kampala
In 1946, Mawlana Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan III accepted the Bandali Jaffer Family’s pledge to donate to the First Aga Khan School in Uganda at the family’s office in Kampala. When accepting the donation, His Highness the Aga Khan said he wanted the school to uphold the highest standards of education. His son, Prince Aly Khan, headed the school project, and Sultan Verjee of Kajansi Brick and Tiles was assigned to build the school. Photograph: Vazir Pyarali Bandali Jaffer family collection.
